UMB Bank Asset Based Lending Senior Client Manager in Los Angeles, California

As one of UMB’s commercial lending verticals, the team is responsible for growing the Asset Based Lending loan portfolio and selling other related revenue generating services to clients. The team is made up of Business Development Officers (Originators), Underwriters, Client Managers, Collateral Analysts and Field Examiners. This team manages Asset Based Loans throughout its life cycle – developing meaningful connections with leadership of the companies they serve. Always mindful of the changes in the company, its industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs.

As the Client Manager , you will work directly with an Asset Based Lending Client Portfolio building long term relationships with key decision makers of assigned borrowers and prospects. You will work closely with the Collateral Analysts and Field Examiners to ensure proper documentation and facilities management is ongoing. You will play a critical role monitoring your assigned borrowers to ensure the loan is performing up to standard, monitoring credit, loan compliance, to protect UMB from potential exposures and to contribute to profitability. You will learn the borrower’s business and industry needs to better evaluate future cash flow. You have the ability to help clients streamline their business processes and help them better understand their working cash flow needs.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • You will play a key role understanding client needs, their loan structures, loan requirements, collateral perfection, legal documentation, financial performance, potential loss exposures, industry trends to help mitigate exposure.

  • You will utilize your credit and underwriting skills to recommend loan modifications reporting requirements and facility structures based on financial performance and risk ratings for assigned borrowers.

  • Based on company performance, you will assign the borrower a risk rating, recommending and submitting potential changes to risk ratings based on company performance.

  • You will complete timely reviews of monthly financial statements, financial covenant compliance, collateral reports, verification results, ABL trend analysis, and other relevant information to identify risk.

  • Utilizing your credit background, you will review and approve daily advance requests from assigned borrowers in accordance with collateral availability, credit status, and approval authority.

  • You possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience of up to 8 years in a Asset Based Lending role.

  • You have experience working face to face with clients in a client interfacing role.

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience in portfolio management, and experience in workout or bankruptcy.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $105,000.00 - Mid Point: $149,940.00 - Maximum: $194,880.00
